Sun Fai Li

Sun Fai Li, or as he prefers to be called, Sli, was Senior Vice President of Asian Rim Company Ltd responsible for cargo charters, consolidators, wholesalers, GSA for the named airlines.

Prior to this, Sli was the V. P. of Asia for TradeWinds Airlines, now called Sky Lease Cargo in the US and was responsible for ACMI sales activities while reporting to the Senior V. P. of Sales & Marketing. Sli was involved with the start-up of operation of the A300B4 of Air Macau and the B747-200F out of Shanghai and Shenzhen. This included setting up ground service, manage and supervise crewing, maintenance, ground operations and cargo. Thus Sli excels in cargo airline start-ups and is a valuable member of Team SWIFT.

Prior to this, Sli was the Director of Station Operations for Atlas, the largest legacy cargo airline in the world. His responsibilities included the smooth integration of Polar Air Cargo into Atlas, overseeing both Atlas and Polar’s cargo, airline operational performance, aircraft coordination for the Far East, operational control of all stations and personnel in the region, coordinating with customers and vendors to ensure customer satisfaction.

One aspect of his oversight of Atlas was responsibility for (14) B747F’s that were based in Asia (HKG, TPE, BKK, ICN, KIX, NIR, BJS, PVG, SZX, SIN, KUL and JKT), which involved liaising between Atlas and government regulatory agencies and airport authorities.

Previous to this at Atlas, Sli was the Station Manager for Hong Kong and was responsible for ACMI with China Airlines, Emirates, British Airways, Korean Airlines, China Cargo Airlines, Air China, China Southern, MASKargo (Malaysian Airlines) and other various airlines where cargo loads were required.

One area he excelled in was contract negotiations, which involved a thorough knowledge of the airline. At other times, Sli was involved with training and maintaining company safety and corporate standards.

V. P. Marketing & Sales

Sli was with Air Hong Kong for a number of years, initially as a Flight Dispatch Officer who monitored flights, overly and landing clearances, crew assignments and briefings. As Sli gained experience, he was transferred and become the Station Manager who over saw the start-up and introduction of Manchester in the U.K., Belgium, BKK and SGN stations. This obviously involved contracts and negotiations with ground vendors, training and cargo sales.

Prior to Air Hong Kong, Sli worked for British Airways in Flight Dispatch where he was monitored flights, oversaw Flight Crew, crewing assignments, overfly permits, company and airport control.

Sli started out in aviation with British Caledonian Airways as a Ramp Services Agent where he was responsible for ramp control, loading, weight & balance calculations etc.

With this wealth of experience, Sli excels in cargo airline start-ups and is a valuable member of Team SWIFT.
